Auran Announces $2 Million Fury Challenge
Auran Games has proclaimed the Rage Challenge tournament for its upcoming PvP MMOG Fury, with a prize pool in excess of $2 jillio.
The upshot will run during the open beta over four weekends from September 14 to October 7. The first two weekends will be practice sessions, while the final two testament feature the actual tournament. The challenger will take place over seven ladders: Individual ladders for the Swirl, Elimination and Bloodbath battles, tribe ladders for Vortex and Elimination team-based battle, and individual and tribe "Complete Combat Types" ladders. Players may compete as often as they like in whatever ladder, with their best decade performances in all ladder used to regulate standings.
Levels will be crowned during the events to ensure funfair competition. Adam Carpenter, Fury's Creative Director, said, "During Fury Challenge we'atomic number 75 capping player ranks at an easily available flat. Since this is an open important event, it is critical that new players become competitive quickly while avoiding the complexities that a soap level, fully unlocked role would bring. This ensures the Challenge is completely about player skill and teamwork, not time played, and this is what Fury's gameplay and design is totally about."
Prize sponsors include Dingle, Nvidia, Logitech, IGN/Fileplanet, GameStop and FHM, with prizes such as PCs, graphics card game, keyboards, vouchers and Violence game cards. "In a marketplace where the big names and big publishers get most of the attention, we figured we had to serve something a bit different to be noticed," aforementioned Auran Director of Selling Brian Cooke, explaining the hefty Fury Challenge prize pool. He said the tourney should attract the attention of PvP gamers, adding, "From in that respect, we're confident our game will keep up them excited."
